We spend all of our time telling YOUR stories, so we thought we should do something special for our 10-year anniversary: tell OUR story! In reviewing hundreds of hours of TV & commercial work, we are humbled and grateful to everyone who has been with us on this emotional journey. This one goes out to all of you.
People overestimate what they can do in one year, but underestimate what they can do in 10.”
That quote feels true after reviewing hundreds of hours of footage we’ve captured since founding ELM in 2013 to produce this short film for a particularly demanding client: ourselves.
A decade of capturing the human experience has taken our lenses from Baltimore, to Yucatán, South Africa, Ukraine and beyond, inviting us to bear witness to life unfolding.
The people in front of our lenses who bravely share their pains, joys, unexpected tragedies, and indomitable achievements are joined in solidarity week in and week out with our teams behind our lenses who are lovingly there to receive, process, and dedicate tireless energy to crafting these moments into a story.
At our best, we are a conduit of that energy channeling it to an audience who can deeply connect with the human experience. Feeling is what gives life meaning. Otherwise, aren’t we just zeros & ones?
And we’re not immune. In 10 years, we’ve had our own many moments of unbridled joy, searing pain, unimaginable loss and boulders to move. All the more reason why we find purpose in this “job” and a sense of duty to get it right.
This is a team sport with too many MVPs to thank for supporting us in reaching this milestone: employees past & present, hundreds of crew members, friends we’ve met along the way and of course our clients & partners . . . You’ve each lovingly contributed to this time capsule. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
